Jammu Kashmir Wednesday recorded 198 COVID-19 cases including 179 from Kashmir and 19 from Jammu, taking the total infection tally to 7695.
Wednesday’s cases include 49 from Baramulla, Srinagar, and Shopian recorded 32 each, Pulwama 24, Kupwara 16, Ganderbal and Jammu 11 each, Anantnag eight, Budgam six, Doda three, Samba and Rajouri two each, Kulgam and Udhampur one each.
Four deaths were also reported during the last 24 hours, one from Jammu and three from the Kashmir Valley. The total death toll in J&K has reached 105. However, 134 patients, eight from Jammu and 126 from Kashmir, were cured and discharged various hospitals across the UT.
Of these cases, 79 samples returned positive at the Viral Diagnostic and Research Lab (VDRL) of SKIMS Srinagar which tested 1807 samples during the past 24 hours.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said the cases include 29 from Shopian, 15 paramilitary CRPF men, Pulwama 14, Srinagar seven, Anantnag five, three Mumbai residents, Budgam two, and Kupwara, Baramulla, Kulgam, Ganderbal one cases each.
The COVID-19 testing lab of SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina Wednesday tested 684 samples of which 15 returned positive.
The cases include 12 from Srinagar and three from Budgam.
The coronavirus dedicated hospital has so far admitted 630 positive patients of which 498 have been discharged while 127 are undergoing treatment.
The government said of the 3,71,486 test results available, 3,63,791 returned negative and 7695 positive which include 2734 active positive cases while 4856 have recovered and discharged including 134 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 2,85,126 persons had been put under observation including 40,118 in home quarantine, 2734 in hospital isolation and 35 in hospital quarantine while 46,475 people are under home surveillance and 1,95,659 persons have completed their surveillance period.
With 198 positive cases, the Covid tally in J&K reached 7,695 on Wednesday. Out of the fresh 198 positive cases, 19 are from Jammu province and 179 from Kashmir Valley.
